Cabbies crackdown ’lifts’ calls

DJ Tommy Jardine thanks Rab McCormack, who is

on a mission to promote Crimestoppers Scotland.

Calls to our anonymous hotline 0800 555 111 from Dumfries have ‘picked up’ thanks to a bid by a local taxi boss to put the brakes on crime.

The Drug Dealers Don’t Care. Do you?’ campaign prompted the promotion by Premier Taxis and Limousines and has led to a ‘bumper response’ from the public, according to owner Rab McCormack who believes there should be no passengers when it comes to fighting crime.

Southwestsound’s popular DJ Tommy Jardine who is pictured here with Rab beside one of his taxis is also helping to drive the message home on his popular breakfast show.

“Projects like the Dumfries cabbies crackdown are taking Crimestoppers Scotland on the road to another record breaking year,” said Tommy who often asks his listeners to remember that reporting crime to Crimestoppers is easy, anonymous and up to them!
