Time to live the life - again!

By Sally Cassidy

This year's Choices for Life, Dream Day winners have been picked from the pile of competition entries. The two lucky pre-teens have already moved up to High School but they still have their feet firmly on the ground. Ann and Ciaron were thrilled to hear that theirs were the cards which had been pulled out by Margaret Curran.

Crimestoppers Scotland staff have been surreptitiously quizzing the kids to find out what their interests are and – just like last year – it’s a keen dancer and an action hero! Staff are already working to put together two great Dream Days which will happen early in the New Year.

Their mums are looking forward to sharing their days out and the kids both have ideas about which friends they’ll invite.

Ciaron has decided that some of his very best pals will be there with him and they include his sister and his dad!

‘Choices for life’ is an initiative which was launched by Strathclyde Police and the SDEA (Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency) and has grown to become an annual event attracting around 65.000 youngsters! The anti drug message is very strong with drama and quiz elements alternating with performances by popular bands, and film clips with statements by well known Scots.

The prize for the Live the Life competition 2005 was also a Dream Day and Crimestoppers Scotland delivered just that. The winners were chauffeur-driven in a limo, treated like celebrities and loved every minute.
