They are certainly no saints on the stage - but the stars of the hit Broadway musical Chicago are looking to tackle crime off it.
The cast of the show, at the beginning of a 12-day stint in the Granite City, joined forces with Crimestoppers to promote our charity in Scotland. They are no strangers to crime themselves as the musical is a story of 'murder, greed, corruption, exploitation and treachery'. Based on real-life events 1920's nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoots her lover - and it's therefore an unlikely candidate to help tackle crime.
Michael Laurie, Crimestoppers CEO, welcomed the support of the cast. He said "It's great that the cast of Chicago are supporting Crimestoppers. Not many people know we are an independent charity - not part of the police. |

In Scotland anonymous calls to Crimestoppers last year led to 761 people arrested and charged. Crimestoppers is here for you 24/7".
Crimestoppers is the only charity helping to solve crime. Established in the UK in 1988, Crimestoppers works to bring together the police, the media, local authorities, the community and business in the fight against crime. The core of Crimestoppers is its anonymous 0800 555 111 hotline number which feeds vital information from the community to the police leading to arrests and the reduction in crime.
Its indisputable strength is that it offers callers with information on criminals or criminal activity the guarantee of freedom from retribution because calls are anonymous, they are not recorded and cannot be traced. |
