Things are looking up all round for our anonymous hotline as more and more people are using it to report crime from as you can see from our picture some unusual places.

Following a suggestion made through the force suggestion scheme, Strathclyde Police decided to prominently display the Crime Stoppers logo and telephone number in all cells across the force area. This will be done as a rolling programme when cells are redecorated. The logo will be displayed on cell ceilings where it is easily legible but less accessible to vandalism.

Inspector Ian R. Andrew of Strathclyde Police (Research and Evaluation) told us: “This is seen by the force as a particularly useful initiative which will increase the information passed to Crime Stoppers. The stencils provided by Crime Stoppers are held by the Property Services Department and are issued to contractors as required”.
