Lives On The Line’

An innovative and exciting new Crimestoppers Radio Campaign is set to take over the air waves in South West Scotland.

‘Lives on the Line’, to be launched in the New Year will run on South West Sound for three months in a bid to raise awareness of Scotland’s only Charity helping to solve crimes.

Not only will the campaign promote the Crimestoppers helpline but it will also aim to highlight the real difference the charity can make to the lives of individuals who fall victim to crime. It will demonstrate how potentially life saving or transforming one call to the hotline can be, help locals understand and trust Crimestoppers and make them feel proud to contribute towards solving crime.

It’s easy for people to feel helpless while suffering at the mercy of crime however ‘Lives on the Line’ will demonstrate that members of the public can tackle local issues head on without leaving themselves open. It’s all about empowering communities.

It will highlight the positive partnerships being set up with other local agencies and steps being taken to produce future initiatives in the region for the benefit of all.

It will contain an original blend of interviews, monologues, sound bites and jingles to get the message across. People involved will cover a wide spectrum of the community from reformed drug addicts to victim support workers to fire fighters.

Essentially it will raise awareness of Crimestoppers, promote the service and its values and convince people the line is not about 'shopping people' but helping people.

The message going out across the region – it’s your community, take it back!
